Michel Aoun (Bishop)

Michel Aoun (born June 2, 1959 in Dammour ) is a Lebanese clergyman and Maronite bishop of Jbeil .

Life

Michel Aoun was ordained a priest on June 9, 1984 .

Pope Benedict XVI on January 16, 2012 confirmed the appointment as Bishop of Jbeil . The Maronite Patriarch of Antioch and of the whole Orient , Béchara Pierre Raï OMM , ordained him episcopal on February 25 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Samir Mazloum , Curia Bishop Emeritus in Antioch, and Paul Youssef Matar , Archbishop of Beirut . The inauguration in his diocese took place on the day after his episcopal ordination.

On October 11, 2018, Pope Francis also appointed him as Apostolic Visitator for the Maronite believers living in Romania and Bulgaria.
