Michel Renquin (born November 3, 1955 in Bastogne ) is a former Belgian football player and current coach .
Player career
Renquin began his career with the youth team at JFC Wibrin. In 1974 he came to Standard Liège . During this time he won the Belgian Cup and the Belgian Supercup in 1981. In 1981 he moved to RSC Anderlecht for one year , after which he moved to Servette Geneva for three years in Switzerland . In Switzerland he was champion in 1985 and cup winner in 1984. In 1985 he returned to Liège and stayed until 1988. From 1988 to 1989 he played one more season in Switzerland with FC Sion .
International playing career
Internationally he played 55 times for Belgium. He took part in the 1980 European Championships in Italy , where he was runner-up with the team. At the 1982 World Cup in Spain he was eliminated with the team in the second group stage, but at the 1986 World Cup in Mexico he was able to celebrate the greatest success in the history of the Belgian national team when the team surprisingly came fourth.
Coaching career
Renquin's most famous coaching station was that of the OGC Nice in France , after which he coached the MC Alger and various other Belgian clubs in Algeria .
