Michel Roth (born November 7, 1959 in Sarreguemines ) is a French chef . He has received major awards such as the Bocuse d'Or and Meilleur Ouvrier de France .

Live and act

Roth began his training at the Auberge de la Charrue d'Or in Sarreguemines, then at the Auberge de L'Ill in Illhaeusern and at Le Crocodile in Strasbourg and at the Ledoyen restaurant in Paris . In 1981 he was hired as a cook at the Hôtel Ritz Paris on Vendôme Square .

In 1992 he became head chef at the Ritz restaurant L'Espadon . In June 1999 he moved to the Lasserre restaurant , which received a Michelin star .

In 2001 he was again head chef at the Hôtel Ritz. In 2009 the restaurant L'Espadon received a second Michelin star. He stayed there until it was closed for renovations in August 2012. In 2012 he founded a food consultancy and in September 2012 became chef and culinary advisor at the Hotel President Wilson in Geneva . In November 2013, the Bayview restaurant was awarded a Michelin star.

Television broadcasts

Roth cooked for the documentary series Royal Dinner , a production by Arte France. This resulted in a total of 20 episodes in two seasons, which are also broadcast in Germany.
