Mickey Higham (born September 18, 1980 in Wigan ) is an English rugby league player. He plays in the Championship for the Leigh Centurions .

Career

Higham initially played for the second division Leigh Centurions , before he moved to St Helens in the Super League in November 2000 due to his performance (22 attempts and Man of the Match in the Grand Final) . In 2002 he won the Super League Grand Final against the Bradford Bulls with St Helens and took part in the World Club Challenge against NRL champion Sydney Roosters the following year . In 2004 he missed much of the Super League season due to an ankle injury and made his international debut for Great Britain against New Zealand at the Tri Nations in 2004.

Higham joined the Wigan Warriors in October 2005 . The move did not happen directly, however, it was first sold for £ 70,000 to the Bradford Bulls, who immediately passed it on to Wigan, where he signed a three-year contract. In return, Terry Newton moved from Wigan to Bradford. After his contract was not renewed, he signed a two-year contract with the Warrington Wolves in 2008 .

In 2008 he took part in the Rugby League World Cup with the English national team. His debut was on October 10th during a pre-season game against Wales. In 2010 he won the Challenge Cup final with Warrington against the Leeds Rhinos .

On May 20, 2015, it was announced that Higham would be returning to the Leigh Centurions for £ 50,000 .
