Mickey Sheen
Mickey Sheen (born December 13, 1927 in Brooklyn , New York City as Milton Scheinblum , † March 25, 1987 ) was an American jazz drummer of swing and mainstream jazz .
Life
Mickey Sheen played the piano when he was nine and drums when he was twelve. He worked in the 1940s and 1950s a. a. with Sol Yagad , Rex Stewart , Bobby Hackett ( Milton Jazz Concert 1963 with Vic Dickenson , Edmond Hall ), Chubby Jacksons Big Three (1958), Coleman Hawkins (on the album Coleman Hawkins and Confreres 1957/58) and with Lester Young , Harry Sweets Edison and Roy Eldridge z. B. on Lester Young's album Laughin 'to Keep from Crying (1958). In 1955 his album Have Swing, Will Travel (Herald) was released. In 1960 he founded the trio The Big Three with Marty Napoleon and Chubby Jackson .
