When You Rise Up is a short book by Gutierrez published by the 53rd State Press. It deals with the psyche of 20 to 30 year olds who, according to Gutierrez:

“Often don't know what to do with themselves, where to put their energies, or how to act“ powerful ”among others”

"Often do not know what to do with yourself, what to use your energy for, or how to" powerfully "deal with others."

Quote

“My work tends to be quite emotional and concerns itself with the phenomenon of existence. I am interested in asking who are we and why are we here, both in life and in the theater. I am fascinated by the body's ability to move between the mundane and the transcendent. I am interested in how the presence of the audience creates a space of attention and extraordinary perception. ”
