Miguel Ángel Ibarra Andrade (born March 15, 1990 in New York City , New York ) is an American football player .

Career

Youth and college

Raised in Lancaster, California , Ibarra attended Taft College in Taft, California from 2008 to 2009 . During his high school years he played for the Ambush Soccer Club in Lancaster. In Taft he played college soccer for the local college team Taft Cougars. From 2010 to 2011 he attended the University of California , where he played for the UC Irvine Anteaters.

While at Taft College, he was named the Central Valley Conference's Top Player. In Irvine, he received the Big West Co-Offensive Player of the Year awards and was appointed to the All-Big West First Team in 2011. In addition to college, he also played for the Lancaster Rattlers in the USL Premier Development League . He later also played for Orange County Blue Star .

Ibarra graduated with a degree in social ecology from college.

Professional player

He was selected by the Portland Timbers in the 2012 MLS Supplemental Draft . But there was no obligation on the part of the Major League Soccer team .

The attacking midfielder then signed a contract with the NASL franchise Minnesota Stars FC on March 13, 2012 . He made his debut on April 8, 2012. He quickly became a regular for the Stars and scored five goals in 30 games. In 2013 he was named to the league's all-star team. At the end of the 2014 season he was named the best player in the league and received the NASL Golden Ball for it.

On June 10, 2015, Ibarra moved to the Mexican first division club León .

On 7 January 2017 returned to the Ibarra now in the Major League Soccer playing Minnesota United back.

National team

Ibarra was nominated for the United States national soccer team for the friendlies against Ecuador and Honduras in October 2014 . He played his first international match against Honduras on October 14, 2014.
