Miguel Seijas

Miguel Seijas , full name Miguel Ángel Seijas Cuestas , (born May 20, 1930 in Montevideo ) is a former Uruguayan rower .

Seijas was a member of the Montevideo Rowing Club . He was a member of the Uruguayan squad at the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki . At the Games in Finland on July 23, 1952, he won the bronze medal in a rowing double scull alongside Juan Rodríguez, behind the Olympic champions Tranquilo Cappozzo and Eduardo Guerrero from Argentina and the second-placed boat of the Soviet Union with Georgi Schilin and Igor Jemtschuk . He also took part in the 1956 Summer Olympics in Melbourne . There he also started in a double scull with Paulo Carvalho . The Uruguayan duo was eliminated in the hope race on Lake Wendouree when they had to admit defeat to the Germans Thomas Schneider and Kurt Hipper , who were fourth at the end of the competition .
