The Gablitzbach is a left tributary of the Wien River in Lower Austria .

According to the ÖK50 of the BEV, the sources of the Gablitzbach are located east of the Riederberg pass at the Waldheim settlement and on the southern slope of the Rauchbuchberg at around 380  m above sea level. A. in the municipality of Sieghartskirchen .

Other maps name the source of the Laabach stream , which has more flow, at 405  m above sea level. A. at the Hinteren Laabachstraße, north of the White Cross as the actual hydrological origin of the Gablitzbach. The Laabach, which only flows to the north and then to the east, joins the course of the Gablitzbach, which flows from the left, above the Allhanger sports field after just under 3 km.

In its further course it runs consistently to the southeast. It flows through the eponymous town of Gablitz , then reaches Purkersdorf, where it flows east of the town center and the B1 underpass under the old western railway line from the left into the leading Wien River.

The Gablitzbach is fed by more than 13 small brooks and ditches, about half of which only carry periodic water. Left tributaries are: Taglesbach, Allhangbach, Brandgräben, Adlersgraben, Adlitzgraben, Madergraben, Rehgraben, Ranzengraben. Right tributaries are: Höbersbach, Parzgraben, Hauersteigbach, Buchgraben, Hochramgraben, Süßfeldgraben, Wolfsgraben.

In Allhang and Höbersbach above Gablitz a retention basin was built to catch floods.

In 2007, after heavy rainfall, the Gablitzbach was heavily polluted by unplanned runoff from the settling basin of the Taglesberg landfill ( eruption of the Wienerwald tunnel ).
