The Riederberg is 384  m above sea level. A. high pass over the Vienna Woods between Vienna and the Tullnerfeld . It is located in the village of the same name in the market town of Sieghartskirchen ( Tulln district , Lower Austria ).

The low mountain pass in the course of the Wiener Straße B1 is known on its western driveway between Ried am Riederberg and the pass summit due to three serpentines (fox curve, monastery curve, quarry curve) and other narrow curves. At the top of the pass there are several restaurants and a road maintenance depot as well as parking spaces. The road is known for difficult driving conditions due to weather events. Before the Westautobahn was built in 1966, all long-distance and heavy traffic used this route.

To the west of the pass are the ruins of the Paradies monastery .

On September 15, 1590 , the Neulengbach earthquake , also known as the Riederberg earthquake , was one of the most severe earthquakes in Austria's history. The earthquake is estimated to have a magnitude of 5.75 or 6.0 on the Richter scale .
