The Annaberg is 976  m above sea level. A. high pass in Lower Austria , which connects the valleys of the Türnitz Traisen and the Erlauf . Mariazeller Straße B20 runs over it as a pass road . The main town of Annaberg is right at the apex .

Coming from Türnitz , the road leads back down in numerous bends to the top of the pass and in the direction of Mariazell , before climbing again to the somewhat higher Josefsberg . Snow chains are often required for trucks when there is snow .

A seldom used variant of the Via Sacra leads to Mariazell via Annaberg .
