The Prebersee country road (L262) ends of Tamsweg coming, at the beginning of the conservation area Prebersee . On the Styrian side, the Preberstraße (L521) from Krakautal only leads to the state border, so that the section within the nature reserve is formally neither a state nor a municipal road. Due to the tourist development from the 1970s with a wide range of offers in summer and winter, the road was paved throughout.
