The Haselrast is a 778 m above sea level. A. high pass in the Lower Austrian Alps. It forms a cut between the Haberkogel ( 1041 m above sea level ) in the south and the Kienkogel ( 913 m above sea level ) in the north of the pass summit . The road above connects Rohr im Gebirge with Gutenstein . There is little traffic on the route as most of the traffic on Gutensteiner Strasse (B21) flows over the Rohrer Sattel , which is almost 100 m higher but also wider and flatter. On the east side of Haselrast, the road is very narrow in places and can only be used in one lane. On the west side, the route with the L4057 road is better developed. The municipal boundary between Rohr and Gutenstein runs over the Haselrast pass.
A memorial cross at the top of the pass commemorates the dead of the Second World War . In May 1945, the front line between the German and Russian troops ran across the Haselrast .
