Mihai Mălaimare Junior
Mihai Mălaimare Junior (* 1975 in Bucharest ) is a Romanian cameraman .
Life
Mihai Mălaimare Junior is the son of the Romanian actor and politician Mihai Mălaimare . At the age of 15 he became interested in photography, so after graduating from school he studied camera at the National University of Theater and Film Arts "Ion Luca Caragiale" . He then worked for several years as a camera assistant and in commercials before making his debut as a cameraman for a feature film in 2004 with the drama Lotus, directed by Ioan Carmazan . His second feature film was the drama Youth Without Youth , directed by Francis Ford Coppola , for which received a nomination for best cameraman at the Independent Spirit Awards 2008 .
In 2018 he was appointed to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences , which awards the Oscars every year.
