Mihai Cristian Popescu (born May 7, 1993 in Câmpulung ) is a Romanian football player who is under contract with Dinamo Bucharest .

Career

Mihai Popescu has been under contract with Dinamo Bucharest since 2014 . In the 2014/15 season he was loaned to ACS Berceni , for which he played eleven second division games. In the following season he played on loan for the second division club FC Dunărea Călărași . As a regular player, he missed promotion to the first division with the club in the first play-off round against UTA Arad . In 2016 he returned to Bucharest. For Dinamo Popescu first came on September 12, 2016 when he made his debut in the league game against ASA Târgu Mureş . In the 2016/17 season he played a total of eleven times in the league for Dinamo, and won the Romanian League Cup . Then the central defender was loaned out to FC Voluntari . He helped the reigning cup winner to save himself in the relegation relegation against FC Chindia Târgovişte to keep the class. Before the relegation games began, Popescu went back to Bucharest. After his return to the Romanian capital, he was now used more regularly. In January 2019, the 25-year-old Popescu was awarded to the Scottish first division club FC St. Mirren together with Laurenisteniu Corbu . The Saints have an option to buy.
