Mika Väyrynen (born December 28, 1981 in Eskilstuna ) is a Finnish football player . He can be used in the central and attacking midfielder . He has been under contract at HJK Helsinki since July 2012 .
Career
society
Väyrynen began his career in 1999 at FC Lahti in the Veikkausliiga . In 2001 he moved to FC Jokerit , which he left after only six months in the direction of sc Heerenveen . Inter Milan was also interested in him at the time . But he decided on the Dutch because he had better prospects of a regular place there. In Heerenveen he developed into a top performer and key player. For the 2005/06 season he moved to the Dutch top club PSV Eindhoven . Right at the beginning of this season he was thrown back by an injury. On December 17, 2005 he made his debut for PSV in the game against Willem II Tilburg . He could not assert himself this season and he mostly played the role of spectator and only played eleven games, where he scored two goals. In the following year he hardly played a major role in the PSV team. For the 2007/08 season, Väyrynen was toying with a move. With the Glasgow Rangers and Derby County two potential buyers were found. A transfer did not come to an end due to a calf injury. In the Dutch league he came in 2007/08 on only one use. Another idea of change in the summer of 2008 was shattered by another wound. Since moving to PSV Eindhoven, he has won three championship titles in a row with the team. However, he was never part of the team and mostly played the role of a spectator. For this reason, Väyrynen moved to the 2008/09 season again to league competitor sc Heerenveen, where he was already under contract between 2001 and 2005. After his contract was not renewed in the summer of 2011, he joined Leeds United in September 2011 , to which his compatriot Mikael Forssell had also tied a few weeks earlier .
National team
Väyrynen was one of the stars of the Finnish junior national team during the 2001 World Junior Championship in Argentina .
He made his debut for the A team of the Finnish national team on March 20, 2002 against South Korea . Since then he has established himself as a key player and has played 28 games. He got two goals. Due to his ongoing injuries, he hardly manages to fit in again and again in the national team.
