Mikael Österberg (born July 22, 1984 ) is a Swedish ice hockey player who has been under contract with Kalix Ungdoms HC in the 1st division since 2009 .

Career

Mikael Österberg began his career as an ice hockey player at Kiruna IF , for whose professional team he made his debut in the HockeyAllsvenskan , the second Swedish division, in the 2002/03 season . In his rookie year , the winger remained pointless and punished in three games and relegated with his team to third-class Division 1. After three years in third-rate ice hockey, the right-handed shooter was signed by Hammarby IF from HockeyAllsvenskan for the 2006/07 season . There he had a regular place and scored three points scorer in 40 games. Due to his low yield, he then had to leave the club and signed with third division Asplöven HC for two years . He has been on the ice for Kalix Ungdoms HC since 2009 .
