Lambert Bumiller

Lambert Bumiller (born October 15, 1852 in Jungingen , † August 19, 1908 in Bezau ) was a Catholic clergyman and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Bumiller attended the Hohenzollern-Gymnasium Sigmaringen , the universities in Innsbruck and Löwen , the academy in Münster and the seminary at St. Peter near Freiburg . After that he was assistant chaplain for four years in various places in Württemberg, catechist in Chotieschau in Bohemia, prefect at the Fidelianum in Sigmaringen and religion teacher and academic teacher at the higher middle school in Hechingen . From 1891 he was pastor in Ostrach and from 1898 archbishop dean. During this time the Catholic parish church of St. Pankratius received its present form.

From 1894 to 1905 he was a member of the Prussian House of Representatives and from 1893 to 1906 of the German Reichstag for the constituency of Hohenzollernsche Lande - administrative region Sigmaringen 1 Sigmaringen, Hechingen for the German Center Party .

He died of a heart condition in Bezau in the Bregenz Forest on August 19, 1908, the first day of his vacation, was transferred on August 20 and buried in Ostrach on August 22.

Appreciation

Since the redesign of the priest's grave, Lambert Bumiller's grave cross has stood as a field cross on Riedstrasse from Ostrach to Dichtenhausen ( 47 ° 56 ′ 25.6 ″  N , 9 ° 22 ′ 32.8 ″  E ). There is a Dekan-Bumiller-Straße in Ostrach .
