Mikael Andersson (born July 6, 1959 in Kiruna ) is a former Swedish ice hockey player , who was active in his active time from 1979 to 1994 for MODO Hockey , IF Björklöven and Västra Frölunda in the Elitserien .
Career
Mikael Andersson began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of the Kiruna AIF . He then moved to MODO Hockey , for whose professional team he was active from 1979 to 1983 in the Elitserien , the highest Swedish league. He was then committed by his league rivals IF Björklöven , with whom he became Swedish champion in 1987 . A year later, he was also runner-up with his new team. In the summer of 1988, the attacker signed a contract with Västra Frölunda in Division 1, which was still second class at the time. With the team he was promoted to the Elitserien straight away. In this he was team captain in Frölunda from 1990 to 1992. The left shooter last played from 1992 to 1994 for his ex-club IF Björklöven, with whom he rose from Division 1 to the Elitserien in the 1992/93 season.
International
For Sweden , Andersson took part in the junior division at the U18 European Junior Championships in 1977 and the U20 World Junior Championships in 1978 and 1979 . In the senior sector, he was in his country's squad at the 1987 World Cup , the Canada Cup in the same year and the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary .
