Mikael Rosén (born August 15, 1974 in Fågelsta ), also known as Mikael Gustavsson , is a former Swedish football player . The defensive player, who played irregularly for the Swedish national team between 1999 and 2003 , won the Swedish championship twice with Halmstads BK .

Career

Mikael Gustavsson started playing football at Fågelsta AIF . In 1992 he went to the second division Motala AIF , which, however, was relegated to the third division at the end of the season. At the end of the 1995 season, they returned to the second division. Parallel to his football career, he initially preferred to play bandy , but when Thomas Nordahl became the football team's coach, he was able to get him excited about his football career. After a year in Division 1 , Gustavsson moved to the 1997 season in the Allsvenskan to Halmstads BK .

In his first first division season Gustavsson came on 24 missions and was able to celebrate his first championship title at the end of the season. In the following two years he did not miss a season game and thus played his way into the extended circle of the Swedish national team . On January 29, 1998, he made his debut in the 0-0 draw against Jamaica in the Jersey of the national selection. Against the same opponent, he came to his second international appearance on May 27, 1999, when he replaced Roland Nilsson in the 2-1 win in the second half . After his second league title with Halmstads BK in 2000, he left the club and moved to Helsingborgs IF .

Gustavsson played three seasons at HIF. He only missed one game of the season, but could not win a title with the club. In the spring of 2003, however, he was able to play his way back into the national team and came on February 12 for his third appearance in the national jersey, when the national team lost 1-0 to Tunisia . In 2004 he moved to Denmark to Viborg FF , where he signed a two-year contract. During his time in Denmark, he changed his last name to Rosén.

During the 2006 season Rosén returned to Halmstads BK in the Allsvenskan. At his former play station, he immediately established himself in the regular formation. At the side of Magnus Bahne , Tim Sparv , Michael Görlitz , Tomas Žvirgždauskas and Ajsel Kujovic , he was one of the guarantors in the following years who regularly helped the club to stay in the Swedish first division.
