Mike Ahey

Mike Ahey (actually Michael Kofi Ahey; born November 22, 1939 ) is a former Ghanaian long jumper and sprinter .

At the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Perth in 1962 , he won gold in the long jump and silver with the Ghanaian 4-by-110-yard relay. Over 100 yards he was eliminated in the semifinals.

In 1964 he finished seventh in the long jump at the Tokyo Olympics . He reached the quarter-finals over 100 m and the semi- finals in the 4 x 100 meter relay .

Four years later, he finished 13th in the long jump at the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City . Again he reached the quarter-finals over 100 m and in the 4 x 100 m relay in the semi-finals.

In 1970 he was fourth in the long jump at the British Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh and won silver in the 4 x 100 meter relay . In the long jump of the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich, he failed to qualify.
