Michael Hixon (born July 16, 1994 in Amherst ) is an American water diver . He starts in the disciplines of artificial jumping from the 1-meter and 3-meter board and together with Kristian Ipsen in the 3-meter synchronized jumping .

Hixon started diving at the age of seven. He is trained by his mother Mandy. He took part in the first Youth Olympic Summer Games in Singapore in 2010 . He won bronze in jumping from the 3-meter board. In the same year he also won silver with Ipsen at the Junior World Championship.

Hixon achieved his greatest success so far together with Sam Dorman at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro , when both won the silver medal behind the British Jack Laugher and Christopher Mears in the synchronized jumping competition from the 3-meter board .
