Mike Lindsay

Mike Lindsay (actually Michael Robert Lindsay; born November 2, 1938 in Glasgow ; † December 11, 2019 ) was a British shot putter and discus thrower .

In 1958, starting for Scotland at the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Cardiff, he finished fourth in the discus throw and sixth in the shot put.

At the Olympic Games in Rome in 1960 , he was fifth in the shot put and was eliminated in the qualifying discus throw.

In 1962 he was tenth in the shot put at the European Athletics Championships in Belgrade . At the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Perth , he won silver in the shot put and in the discus throw.

At the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 1964, he did not get beyond the preliminary round in the shot put.

In 1966 he was fourth in the shot put and sixth in the discus throw at the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Kingston , in 1970 at the British Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh sixth in the shot put and ninth in the discus throw.

In 1957, 1959 and 1963 he was the English champion in the shot put, in 1960 in the discus throw. In 1964 and 1966 he was the English indoor champion in the shot put.
