Hans Otto Streuber

Hans Otto Streuber (* 1949 in Lauterecken ) is a German SPD politician and association representative. From 1993 to 1999 he was Lord Mayor of the city of Zweibrücken .

Life

Hans Otto Streuber studied law in Saarbrücken from 1969. After passing the second state examination in 1976, he worked as a judge, including as a youth judge. In addition, he was volunteer in local politics and from 1972 sat for the SPD on the local advisory board of the Zweibrücken district of Mörsbach , and later on the city council of Zweibrücken. In 1986 he resigned his judge's office and city council mandate and became managing director of the non-profit housing company Gewobau, of which he had previously been a member of the board. From 1993 to 1999 he was Lord Mayor of Zweibrücken. During his term of office, conversion measures fell after the US armed forces had withdrawn, including the establishment of a university of applied sciences as an external location for the Kaiserslautern University of Applied Sciences . He was then President of the Sparkassenverband Rheinland-Pfalz from 1999 to 2011 .

He is President of the Palatinate Racing Club in Zweibrücken and was active in numerous other functions in the areas of sport, culture and health, including the German Red Cross and from 2000 to 2010 as a member of the Presidium of Sporthilfe Rheinland-Pfalz / Saarland, from 2006 as theirs President.

Streuber was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit 1st Class in 2012.
