Jürgen Lambert

Juergen Lambert (* 24. May 1936 in Trier , Rhineland-Palatinate ) is a CDU - politician . From 1999 to 2004 he was Lord Mayor of Zweibrücken .

Life

Jürgen Lambert, who comes from the well-known Lambert rose- growing family, studied law in Frankfurt am Main and Tübingen. After receiving his doctorate, he worked in the Mainz State Chancellery . In 1966 Lambert joined the CDU. In 1969 he applied for the post of First Mayor in Zweibrücken and prevailed against 16 other applicants. He then held this office for 30 years. When, in 1999, the then mayor of Zweibrücken, Hans Otto Streuber, was appointed to the office of President of the Sparkassen- und Giroverband Rheinland-Pfalz , Lambert ran for successor and was elected mayor of Zweibrücken in the second ballot as the first politician not belonging to the SPD .

In May 2004 Lambert had to give up his office because he had reached the maximum age limit of 68 years. On October 4, 2006, the Zweibrücken city council decided to make Jürgen Lambert an honorary citizen of the city.

He is married to Traudel Lambert and has two children.

As a board member of the Verein Deutscher Rosenfreunde (VDR) , Lambert was responsible for the working group of rose cities and rose villages. During his studies he became a member of the Catholic student associations KDSt.V. Greiffenstein (Breslau) Frankfurt / Main and AV Guestfalia Tübingen , both in CV .
