Mikkel Holm Aagaard (born November 26, 1979 in Copenhagen ) is a former Danish handball player .

The 1.89 m tall and 90 kg heavy right-handed player was mostly used as the left winger . Aagaard started playing handball at FIF. He played in the 2000/01 EHF Cup with Virum-Sorgenfri HK . After a season with Team Helsinge, he took part again in the EHF Cup with Bjerringbro HK 2002/03. From January 2003 he ran up to the end of the season for the Spanish club CB Torrevieja . In summer 2003 he moved to Skjern Håndbold , with whom he played in the 2004/05 and 2006/07 EHF Cups. In the 2005/06 European Cup Winners' Cup , he reached the quarter-finals and was the second top scorer in the competition with 62 goals. From March 2007 he went on the hunt for goals for the Spanish team Bidasoa Irún . He then wore the Viborg HK jersey until his retirement in 2010 .

In the Danish national team Mikkel Aagaard made his debut on June 22, 2000 against Croatia and until 2008 played 59 international matches in which he scored 107 goals. He won bronze at the 2006 European Championships . Two years later he became European champion .
