Mikkel Schmidt Solnado (* 20th October 1975 in Copenhagen ) is a Danish - Portuguese Pop - singer .

Life

He was born in Denmark to the Portuguese comedian and actor Raul Solnado and the Danish Hanne-Louise Schmidt. He became interested in music after hearing Iron Maiden for the first time at the age of eleven and was particularly fascinated by the playing of the drummer Nicko McBrain . After playing in a death metal band, he was a member of the rock band Mike Sunset from 1995 to 2000 .

In 2006 he was hired by the Danish production company Gabriel Flies , which also appeared as a music group of the same name. He played in the band from 2007 to 2010, and worked as a producer on studio assignments for radio, commercials and fellow musicians. Solnado was also a frequent guest of other musicians, both as a singer and as a songwriter, for example for the rapper Jokeren .

After the death of his father, Mikkel Solnado came into the public eye in Portugal, for example at the gala of the Globo de Ouro awards in 2009, where he performed in front of an audience of millions, in the Coliseu dos Recreios and with television broadcast by SIC . He also received more attention in Portugal when he released his debut album as a solo artist in 2012 . It hit the sales charts there.

He lives in the Baixa Pombalina , the lower city of Lisbon , and writes and produces music for films, advertising, theater, computer games, and television.
