Miklós Spányi (* 1962 in Budapest ) is a Hungarian organist and harpsichordist .

After studying organ and harpsichord at the Franz Liszt Music Academy in Budapest, he continued his studies at the Royal Flemish Conservatory in Antwerp with Jos van Immerseel and at the Munich Music Academy with Hedwig Bilgram .

Spányi won prizes at international harpsichord competitions in Nantes (1984) and Paris (1986) and is now one of the most versatile and sought-after keyboard virtuosos in his country. He has given concerts in many European countries as a soloist for keyboard instruments (organ, harpsichord, clavichord , tangent grand piano and fortepiano) and as a member of various orchestras and ensembles for early music .

As an interpreter and researcher, Spányi concentrated on the work of Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach . Today he is one of the best connoisseurs of this composer, and he is in the process of recording his entire piano work for BIS Records . He was particularly committed to the revival of the clavichord , CPE Bach's favorite instrument.
