Miklós Murányi

Miklós Murányi (born September 26, 1943 in Kiskőrös , Hungary ) is a German orientalist and Islamic scholar .

Life

Miklós Murányi was born in 1943 in the Kiskőrös suburb . He studied at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität in Bonn and received his doctorate in philosophy (Dr. phil.) In 1973 with his dissertation The comrades of the prophets in early Islamic history . He then taught for a while at the seminar for oriental languages ​​at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn.

In addition to articles in Arabica and the magazine of the German Oriental Society , he published monographs on the caliph Abū Bakr , the legal scholar Al-Mādschischūn and the legal scholar Sahnūn ibn Saʿīd .

From 1992 to 1996 he published four volumes with writings on the Koranic studies and Koran exegesis of the Egyptian legal scholar ʿAbdallāh ibn Wahb , who lived from 743 to 812.
