The Milano Seamen are an Italian American football team founded in 1981. The Seamen are currently playing in the Italian Football League, the highest national league, and in Big6 , the highest competition at European level.
history
The Milano Seamen were founded in October 1981 by Sergio Galeotti. In 1987 and 1989 they reached the Italian Super Bowl , the final of the Italian championship, which they lost to the Legnano Frogs . At the end of the 1990 season, which the Seamen concluded without a win and with only one draw, the club disbanded.
The team was re-established on March 31, 2009. In the 2013 season, the Seamen reached the Italian Bowl XXXIII, in which they clearly defeated the Parma Panthers with 28:51. In the 2014 season, the Seamen and the Panthers met again in the Italy Bowl. With a 33-3 victory Seamen won the Italian championship for the first time. The following year they were able to repeat this success, again against Parma.
After a year of abstinence, the Seamen secured two more national titles in 2017 and 2018. In 2017 they met city rivals and defending champions Rhinos Milano at the Italian Bowl . At the same time, the Seamen competed internationally. In the 2017 season , the Seamen competed in the Big6 European Football League , the highest European competition. A 14:13 win against the Berlin Rebels in the home stadium was followed by a significant defeat at Frankfurt Universe , which resulted in the end in the preliminary round. A year later, the Seamen moved into the final of the European Football League . They just lost this against the Potsdam Royals with 42:43.
