Milap Chand Jain

Milap Chand Jain (born July 21, 1929 in Jodhpur , † April 29, 2015 in Jaipur , Rajasthan ) was an Indian lawyer.

Life

Jain began his career as a lawyer. He was admitted to the Rajasthan High Court in 1953 and the Supreme Court in 1957. His focus was on civil, criminal and tax law. From 1970 he was District & Session Judge at the court in Jodhpur for eight years. In 1978 he became a judge at the Rajasthan High Court and, in a period of vacancy, represented the post of Chief Justice in 1989/1990 . As a result, he also acted as interim governor of Rajasthan from February 3 to 13, 1990 .

On November 28, 1990, he was appointed Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court . After retiring in 1991, Jain led the commission to investigate Rajiv Gandhi's murder . He later worked as the Lokayukta (anti-corruption ombudsman) of Rajasthan.
