The 32nd Baza Lotnictwa Taktycznego (32nd Tactical Air Base) is a military airfield of the Polish Air Force ( Siły Powietrzne Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej ). The base is located in the Łódź Voivodeship in the Krzesiny about 25 kilometers southwest of Łódź . She is one of two home bases of the F-16 - combat aircraft .
history
The base became home to the 2nd Pułk Lotnictwa Myśliwskiego (2nd Fighter Regiment). The unit was renamed in 1967 in 10. Pułk Lotnictwa Myśliwskiego (10th Fighter Regiment). The longest flown model during the Warsaw Pact was the MiG-21 .
The 31st base was created in 2001 as a result of a reorganization of the Polish air force with a view to joining NATO with the 10th squadron as a flying task force. The 10th Squadron was temporarily deactivated in January 2003 as a MiG-21MF / UM unit and began flight operations with the F-16 five and a half years later in October 2008.
Todays use
The base currently houses (2019):
- 10 Eskadra Lotnictwa Taktycznego (10 ELT), tactical squadron since 2008 with F-16C / D Block 52 - fighter planes equipped. There are also non-flying formations.
A detachment , AvDet , and, on a rotation basis, other United States Air Force (USAF) units have also been using the base since 2012.
