George Milner Tozaka (born October 21, 1951 in Ropalado ) is a Solomon politician and diplomat . He has been the island nation's foreign minister since December 2014 .

Career

Tozaka studied management and sociology at the University of the South Pacific in Suva . From 1984 he worked in various ministries, where he was chairman of the national disaster council from 1984 to 1985. From 2000 to 2005 he worked as the High Commissioner of the Solomon Islands in Australia before running as a non-party candidate in the North Vella Lavella constituency in the 2006 general election and becoming a member of the Solomon Islands Parliament for the first time after his victory . In 2006 and again from 2007 to 2010 he was Minister of Public Service, and in 2010 he joined the People's Alliance Party (PAP). On December 15, 2014, he became Foreign Minister in the cabinet of Manasseh Sogavare, successor to Clay Forau Soalaoi .
