Miloš Václav Kratochvíl
Miloš Václav Kratochvíl (born January 6, 1904 in Vienna , † July 9, 1988 in Prague ) was a Czech writer, screenwriter and dramaturge.
Life
After graduating from high school in Prague, the son of a Viennese archivist studied history at Prague University . In 1929 he took up the post of archivist in the Prague City Archives. Towards the end of the Second World War he switched to national film and after the end of the war he worked in the Ministry of Information. In 1947 he devoted himself to dramaturgy and in 1950 he was appointed professor at the AMU film faculty . Since 1960 he has only been writing.
Works
He has published articles in the relevant magazines Lumír , Národní osvobození , Volná myšlenka , Pestrý týden , Kulturní politika , Za vlast , Československý voják , Kino , Film a doba , Literární noviny , Květen , Domov and others.
His stories, dramas, novellas and stories deal almost entirely with Czech history. It is often the time of the Hussites , the time after the Battle of White Mountain and after 1848.
Otakar Vávra filmed his scripts, also with a historical background, such as the year of the revolution in 1848 , Jan Hus , Jan Žižka or Gegen alle . František Daniel brought his comedies Where the Devil Can't and She fell from the moon onto the celluloid.
For the youth he wrote radio plays and historical writings.
