Miloslav Hamer

Miloslav Hamer (born June 22, 1913 , † February 4, 2002 ) was a Czechoslovak table tennis player . From 1932 to 1939 he took part in all eight world championships and was world champion twice.

Often - also in the ITTF database - the name is given as "Hamr". In Czech sources, however, the spelling "Hamer" is often found

In the eight-time World Cup participation, Miloslav Hamer came up with a total of nine medals. The greatest successes were the two world championships in 1936 in mixed with Gertrude Kleinová and in 1939 with the team. He also won four silver medals, namely in 1934 , 1935 and 1936 in the team competition. He achieved bronze in 1934 in doubles with Kohn and in 1937 with Adolf Šlár . There are also three semi-finals with the team (1936, 1937 and 1938).

He competed several times at international German championships . Here he won singles in 1935, 1938 and 1939, doubles in 1938 (with Bohumil Váňa ) and 1939 (with Ivan Andreadis ) and in mixed 1935 (with Gertrude Kleinová ) and 1939 with Gertrude Kleinová.

In 1955, Jiří Jahn shot the two-part documentary Stolní tenis ("Table tennis") in the Gottwaldov film studios with the support of the editor-in-chief of the tennis-stolní tennis magazine , Josef Stein, in which Miloslav Hamer and Ladislav Štípek , Bohumil Váňa , Ludvík among others Vyhnanovský and Adolf Šlár participated.

Miloslav Hamer died in 2002. He was buried in the cemetery in Vršovice (Prague) .
