Milovan Stanković ( Serbian Cyrillic : Милован Станковић; * 1969 in Belgrade , Yugoslavia ) is a Serbian electrical engineer and writer .

Life

The setting of Stanković's most recent novel from 2013 is the birthplace of Franz Kafka , who worked full-time as an employee at an insurance company for many years and thus earned his living. The Belgrade- born writer has a biographical analogue in this regard with the world-famous writer : he has been working full-time as an electrical engineer at Serbian Telecom since completing his degree at the Electrical Engineering Faculty of the University of Belgrade . Stanković does not make a fuss about himself, he rarely appears in public, his homepage is focused on writing, two professional profiles of the technician are published on LinkedIn and ZoomInfo and there are only sparse interviews to be found that are only in connection with the new publication of one of his books. Some of his short stories have been published in various literary magazines before they appeared in an anthology by Stylos Verlag from Novi Sad . Milovan Stanković's most successful work is undoubtedly the novel All About the Fuller Family (Sve o porodici Fuler), for which he was awarded the renowned Isidora Sekulić Prize . The setting of the action is the city of New York and a family story reflects the American Way and Dream and its discrepancy to the real life of the protagonists . His short story From the Preacher's Book (Iz knjige propovednika) was awarded the Milutin Uskoković Prize in Užice in 2004 . The author of two novels, three volumes of poetry and one volume of short stories lives and works in his hometown.
