Mimmi Tamba

Mimmi Tamba (* 1991 in Tromsø ) is a Norwegian singer, actress and songwriter who became famous in autumn 2013 for her participation in the NRK show Stjernekamp . She describes her music as renaissance or baroque pop.

biography

Tamba was born in Tromsø and grew up there. Her mother Guri Johnsen is an actress at Hålogaland Theater. Her father is a musician from Senegal . As a musician, Tamba is mainly interested in jazz , soul and pop . In autumn 2013 she released the music video for "The Light in the Dark", in which she sings in dialect.

Tamba earned a bachelor's degree in acting from Det Norske Teatret . She played the role of Nabulungi in the musical " The Book of Mormon ". In Det Norske Teatret she played in David Bowie's musical “Lazarus” , for which she was nominated in 2019 for the Heddaprisen in the category “Best Actress in a Supporting Role”.
