The Mims Spur is a prominent and rocky mountain ridge in the west Antarctic Marie-Byrd-Land . In the Horlick Mountains it extends from the southern foothills of the Wisconsin Plateau immediately southeast of the Polygon Spur along the north flank of the McCarthy Glacier .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it based on its own surveys and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1960 to 1964. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1967 after Julius E. Mims Jr., a radio operator at Byrd Station in 1962 .
