Mind Wars is an Italian - American speed and thrash metal band from Turin and Los Angeles , California that was founded, 2013.
history
The band was founded in autumn 2013 by the American Mike Alvord (electric guitar, vocals) and the Italian Roby Vitari. The two had known each other since 1989, when Alvord had toured Europe with his band Holy Terror to promote their 1988 album Mind Wars , and got to know Vitari, who worked for Jester Beast and Headcrasher. During their conversation they discovered that Alvord had the same roots as Vitari, since Alvord's grandparents, like Vitari, came from southern Italy. It wasn't until 2013, however, that they contacted each other again via the Internet and decided to found Mindwars. The two albums The Enemy Within and Sworn to Screcy were then released in 2014 and 2016 . The latter album had been mixed and mastered by Bill Metoyer . In 2014 and 2016, the band toured the US, including a tour of Europe in 2016. All of these tours were self-funded. Further appearances were held in January 2017.

Paulomaniaco from metal-temple.com assigned the music on The Enemy Within to speed and thrash metal, with the group based on the 1980s. They also revive the New Wave of British Heavy Metal . In addition, influences from Pink Floyd and Cathedral can be heard. According to Thomas Meyer from voicesfromthedarkside.de , when listening to Sworn to Secrecy, a comparison to Holy Terror is only possible to a limited extent, as more can be heard on it than just speed and thrash metal. So have Lies alternative moments and a solo , as elsewhere in the Classic Rock is audible, and Helpless have a ballad-like character. The vocals sound like usual for Thrash Metal.
