The MINI TROPHY was a one-make cup or motorsport racing series that took place in 2012 and 2013. The MINI TROPHY is the successor to the Mini Challenge Germany . The races took place as part of the ADAC Masters Weekend , the 2013 ADAC GT Masters and other different events, including Mini United as the largest MINI festival in the world and the ADAC Zurich 24h Race as the world's largest motorsport event. Only MINI John Cooper Works Challenge racing vehicles were allowed in the one-make cup. The series was designed as a popular sport and series for young talent.

The racing series was founded and organized by punktEins Service GmbH. The racing series was supported by the ADAC . The Mini Trophy has been live on the Internet since the first season in 2012. The racing series will not continue in 2014.

Regulations

Technical

Only the MINI John Cooper Works Challenge model with 211 hp and an acceleration from 0 to 100 in 6.1 seconds was permitted . The car cost € 41,930 (excluding VAT ) and could not be approved for use on public roads. The minimum weight of the racing car is 1170 kg including the driver. BMW delivered and tested the vehicle. In order to ensure the greatest possible equality of opportunity, only a few changes to the car were allowed. The engine, transmission and turbocharger were secured with seals that could not be removed. No additional thermostats were allowed to be installed. The slicks and racing tires came from Dunlop .

Sporty

The minimum age for participation was 18 years. The series operator can, however, allow 17-year-old starters in the form of an exception. Drivers with a valid national A license for all events approved by the DMSB or an international B or C driver license of the DMSB or another national sports authority affiliated to the FIA for all other events that were held at the MINI TROPHY organization in accordance with the registration requirements were eligible to participate were registered and paid the registration fee. On the race weekend there was generally a free practice, a timed practice and 2 races of 30 minutes each. There is an exception in the 24-hour race, where only one race was held. Because of the equal opportunities, the starting grid for the second race was based on the result of the first, with the first six drivers starting the second race in reverse order. The races were usually started with a standing start.

For places 1 to 20, the points were awarded in the following order:

Prize money

A total of 8,000 euros in material prizes and prize money for drivers and teams were made available for the duels for the top. The overall winner even got a Mini John Cooper Works.

Racetracks

The 2012 season was held at the Oschersleben , Le Castellet , Sachsenring , Red Bull Ring , Lausitzring , Nürburgring and Hockenheimring race tracks . In the 2013 season, the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben, Nordschleife , Sachsenring, Nürburgring, Red Bull Ring, Lausitzring and Hockenheimring racetracks were driven.
