The Pillersdorf Ministry of the Austrian Empire, chaired by Prime Minister Franz von Pillersdorf , was in office from May 4 to July 8, 1848.

history

Prime Minister Karl Ludwig von Ficquelmont , as a member of Metternich's party and a proven friend of Russia , was forced to resign through demonstrations at the beginning of May. He was succeeded as Prime Minister Franz von Pillersdorf , whose opposition to the ruling system around Metternichs was known. Pillersdorf had already been appointed Minister of the Interior by Emperor Ferdinand on March 20, 1848 . On May 4, 1848 he was also appointed Prime Minister. The liberal constitution of April 25, 1848 ( Pillersdorf's constitution ) created by him for the Cisleithan countries could not satisfy either the revolutionaries or the crown, whereupon he resigned from his post as Prime Minister on July 8. He was succeeded by Anton von Doblhoff-Dier in office.
