Anton Freiherr von Doblhoff-Dier (born November 10, 1800 in Gorizia , † April 16, 1872 in Vienna ) was an Austrian politician .

Life

Anton (II.) Von Doblhoff-Dier was a liberal member of the Austrian Reichstag in 1848 . He was appointed Austrian Trade Minister in the Pillersdorf cabinet . After its dissolution, in July 1848 he took over the Ministry of the Interior and Education and the post of Prime Minister at short notice. From 1849 to 1858 he was the Austrian envoy to the Netherlands . He then devoted himself to agriculture and wrote agricultural writings. From 1861 to 1867 he was a member of the state parliament of Lower Austria and the Reichsrat , from 1867 a member of the manor house .

In 1819 he joined the fraternity circle of Vienna .

In 1873 in Vienna Inner City (1st District) behind the Parliament the Doblhoffgasse named after him. He is on the Helen Cemetery in Baden buried.

Anton's brother was Joseph von Doblhoff-Dier .
