The Ministry of Wessenberg of the Austrian Empire, chaired by Prime Minister Johann Philipp Freiherr von Wessenberg-Ampringen , held office during the Revolution of 1848 from July 18 to November 21, 1848.

His predecessor was the brief acting Prime Minister Anton von Doblhoff-Dier . After his resignation on July 18, the liberal-minded Johann von Wessenberg came into office as Prime Minister. When Imperial Austrian troops were supposed to march from Vienna against the rebellious Hungary on October 6, 1848 , the Vienna October Uprising took place . Minister of War von Latour, who had ordered the troops to march, was lynched by the angry crowd . After the rebels succeeded in conquering the Imperial Armory in Renngasse, Emperor Ferdinand , the imperial military and the government of Vienna left. Imperial troops under Prince Windisch-Graetz brought the capital Vienna back under their control by October 31. On November 21, 1848 Felix zu Schwarzenberg was appointed Prime Minister.
