Minna Louise Nanitz (born October 8, 1842 in Seehausen , Altmark , † July 19 or 20, 1903 in Karlsbad ) was a German opera singer ( mezzo-soprano ).

Life

Nanitz worked as an opera singer in Hanover and from 1870 to 1885 as a royal court opera singer at the Dresden court theater . She was the successor to Aloysia Krebs-Michalesi . Their main roles were those of Ortrud in Wagner's Lohengrin , Amneris in Verdi's opera Aida and the woman empire in the Merry Wives of Windsor by Nicolai . On March 21, 1874 she sang in the world premiere of the opera Die Folkunger by Edmund Kretschmer . In addition to her work at the opera, she also had success as a concert and oratorio singer. She found her final resting place in Uhyst on the diver .
