The Austrian Minimize ( Minuartia austriaca ), and Austria-Minimize called, is a flowering plant in the family of the Pink family (Caryophyllaceae).
description
This perennial plant forms loose lawns and reaches heights of 8 to 20 centimeters. The individual stems usually have two terminal white flowers . The pointed sepals are 4 to 6 millimeters long. The flower stalks are about 4 to 10 times as long as the calyx, the petals almost 2 times as long as the calyx and are trimmed or serrated at the front. The leaves are narrow-lanceolate to linear, 10 to 20 millimeters long and glabrous.
Flowering time is from June to August.
The number of chromosomes is 2n = 26.
Occurrence
The plant grows scattered in the Eastern Alps on calcareous debris in the montane to subalpine altitude. It is a Thlaspietalia-order character, but also occurs in societies of the Potentillion caulescentis.
