The Mirazh Mountain ( Russian Гора мираж Gora Mirasch , German ' Luftspiegelungsberg ' , Norwegian Miražtoppen ) is a 1485 m high mountain in the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . It rises in the north-central part of the Steinmulen ridge in the Otto von Gruber Mountains of the Wohlthat massif .
It was discovered and mapped using aerial photographs during the German Antarctic Expedition in 1938/39 under the direction of polar explorer Alfred Ritscher . Norwegian cartographers mapped it on the basis of aerial photographs and measurements of the Third Norwegian Antarctic Expedition (1956–1960). Soviet scientists, who also named it, mapped it again during an expedition that ran from 1960 to 1961. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names transferred the Russian name in 1970 in a partial translation into English.
