Mirco Bertolina (born May 11, 1991 in Sondalo ) is an Italian cross-country skier .

Career

Bertolina, who competes for the Centro Sportivo Carabinieri , took part in the cross-country Alpine Cup in Alta Badia for the first time in December 2008 , finishing 110th over 10 km classic and 89th in the sprint. In the 2011/12 season he ran in the Alpencup with six top ten placements to 17th place in the overall standings. He achieved his first podium finish in the Alpine Cup in March 2012 in Toblach with third place over 3.3 km freestyle. At the U23 World Championships in 2012 in Erzurum , he achieved tenth place in the sprint. In the following year he came in 15th place in the overall ranking of the Alpine Cup and in the U23 World Championships in Liberec on the 25th place in the skiathlon and on the 19th place over 15 km freestyle. In the 2013/14 season he achieved five placements among the top ten in the individual races in the Alpine Cup, including third place in the sprint in Chamonix, 11th place overall. In addition, he was third with the relay in Oberwiesenthal . At the U23 World Championships in 2014 in Val di Fiemme , he finished 40th in the skiathlon and 27th in the sprint. He made his debut in the Cross-Country World Cup in December 2015 in Toblach, which he finished in 68th place in the sprint. In 2016 he won the Gsieser-Tal-Lauf over 42 km freestyle. In February 2017, he took third place in the sprint at the Alpencup in Zwiesel . At the Tour de Ski 2017/18 , which he finished in 33rd place, he scored his first World Cup points with the eighteenth fastest time on the final stage in Val di Fiemme. At the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang , he ran 44th in the 15 km freestyle and 40th in the sprint. The following year he finished 52nd in the 50 km mass start race at the Nordic World Ski Championships in Seefeld in Tyrol .
