Mirian Goldenberg

Mirian Goldenberg (* 1957 in Santos , State of São Paulo ) is a Brazilian social anthropologist and professor at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro .

Life

Mirian Goldenberg comes from the state of São Paulo. She first studied from 1974 to 1977 at the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo and in 1978 she moved to Rio de Janeiro, where she studied at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro until 1980 and received her master's degree in education. In 1988 she began studying social anthropology at the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro and received her doctorate in 1994 with the dissertation Toda Mulher é Meio Leila Diniz: gênero, desvio e carreira artística. There she received her teaching license and has since worked at the Institute for Philosophy and Social Sciences (IFCS / UFRJ), Department of Cultural Anthropology .

She is also a journalist for the Folha de S. Paulo and has made a name for herself as a Brazilian during the German period with the weekly column Die WM und ich . In 2014, the work Untreu: Observations of an anthropologist on two-way relationships and infidelity was published in German translation .

Her research and publication focus is on gender studies , family and marriage, sexuality, body and fashion, curriculum vitae and memory, urban anthropology - especially that of Rio de Janeiro, mass media and deviance .
