Jean Baptiste Vezin

Jean Baptiste Vezin (* 27. July 1712 in Hannover , † 8 January 1794 ) was a violinist and Royal British court - concertmaster .

Life

Jean Baptiste was born as the son of the electoral Hanoverian and later royal British court and chamber musician Pierre Vezin in the royal seat of Hanover.

After his musical training first in Hanover, then in Turin , Milan and London , Vezin took over the position of his father, who died in the same year, in 1727 - at this time his sovereigns were already residing as George I and his son George II royal court and chamber musician in the Hanover court orchestra .

Almost four decades later, Vezin took over the position of royal concertmaster in Hanover in 1765, succeeding Johann Heinrich Preuss . If necessary, he was represented in this activity by the composer Jakob Herschel .

Vezin had married Caecilie , a daughter of the hydraulic engineer Etienne Maillet de Fourton . With her he had a daughter named Maria Anna Francisca , who in 1774 married the fountain master and hydraulic engineer Jean Joseph La Croix in the Catholic Church of St. Clemens in Calenberger Neustadt .
