Johann Heinrich Preuss

Johann Heinrich Preuss (* around 1710 ; † May 9, 1764 in Hanover ) was a German and Royal British Court - Kapellmeister .

Life

As a youth, Johann Heinrich Preuss became a member of the Hanoverian court orchestra and chamber musician under the then sovereign, the Hanoverian Elector and British King George I. After the birth of his son Karl Ludwig (born March 22, 1744 in Hanover; † December 29, 1832 there , from 1768 he also became a member of the Hanoverian court orchestra, presumably until 1803), Vezin took over the orchestra leadership as concertmaster in 1764 as the successor to Johann Balthasar Lutter .

In the year after Preuss' death, Jean Baptiste Vezin took over his position as Royal Concertmaster in Hanover.
